Another transfers come and gone, and the verdict is.....Staying. Me and Elder Frazier are staying, the only change is Calhan is getting a different missionary, so it will be Elder Anderson. He's on his 3rd transfer. Man...I never thought I would be out 20 months. I feel so old in the mission now, nobody knows who I used to know since they've all gone home. It's weird. And more and more I have these fears at night of "imagine going to bed...and waking up....and not putting on missionary clothes." I try not to think about it.
Well this week was good. Really good. A member of the ward went to the gym on Saturday and said "Hi, how are you" to some lady there. Well they started talking and it ended up with her and her husband coming to Church on Sunday. So sweet! And her husband got all excited because he was baptized RLDS and saw the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" on the sign and was like "that's where I got baptized". Well it was different, but he recognized all the hymns and the service and is really excited to come back. The only problem is he has gone out of town for the next 5 weeks to 2 months....grr...Oh well it's still a really awesome thing. I would love to have an RLDS convert.
Another one of our investigators came to church for all 3 hours, and she really is loving it and has this light in her eyes now! she has been reading and praying every day for the past few weeks, and we have an appointment with her this next Saturday and we are really hoping to help her be baptized in the month of April. It's cool to see how people start to change when they put all the pieces of the gospel together. Not just reading the Book of Mormon. Not just praying about it. It's Book of Mormon, Prayer, and Church. You need all 3 if you want to know the truth of this work.
We felt prompted to stop by a member this week, and we knocked on her door and it's someone who we are teaching her friend. She answered the door and was like "Elders, I'm sorry, but I haven't talked to Sara yet" and told us how crazy her life had been with different challenges, health and family. So we offered to give her a blessing and she accepted (don't worry, the ratio of people:missionaries in the house was good) it went really well. Her husband was out of town so she didn't really know what to do, and hadn't been thinking about it. So we were happy to be tools in the hands of the Lord.
And finally, we were tracting yesterday and this guy was trying to load a Grill into his jeep. We kept hearing crashing noises and swearing as we got closer to his house and finally we walked up and helped him put it through his sun-roof because it wouldn't fit in the back of the Jeep. His jeep smelled very badly of marijuana. Ya. Well as he was driving away (with the grill sticking through his sun-roof) He threw us a "Shaka" or "hang-loose" from the window and drove away. Well as we were continuing down the street someone got out the house who's driveway he was parked in and got in a van and drove away. And the garage was open the whole time. And this guy was in a big hurry. We have our suspicions now that the guy was actually stealing the grill....And we helped him do it.... I guess one day we'll find out.
And my Colorado Liscence arrived at the mission office today. yay!
