Super Tuesday

Hey everyone, it's Super Tuesday today! Why? well of course because it's the day we find out Transfers. So I randomly for no other reason at all decided to dub today as Super Tuesday.

I'm staying. Elder Robledo is going. He will be training in Castle Rock and will do a heck of a good job at it. I'm getting an Elder Frazier from Salt Lake and it sounds like he is a way cool Elder so this is going to be great! We have a lot of potential for this next upcoming transfer and a lot of good things are happening.

I'll start with a funny one. We met a guy the other day who told us that once the Mormons had enough people in the church, we would take over the world with the weapons arsenal we have in Salt Lake city...first time I've heard that one.

So we taught that lady who agreed to take the lessons, who hasn't been invited in the past 12 years. It was awesome. There will be a baptism of her and her son on March 18, 2012, and even though their son was super sick on Sunday, they still made the effort and made it to church with him, and stayed for the second hour as well. A true miracle, most people we teach if one little thing comes up its, "oh, can't make it to church", but they made church a priority and we know the Lord will bless them for it.

The guy that came out and wanted to argue with us didn't work out this week. He had just got back from Arizona 10 minutes before we got there, and we were late to begin with and he was just going to bed. But got a return appointment, and he's really looking forward to us coming back. Whether that's because he wants to argue with us or not, we're not worried. We can answer all his questions, but ultimately if he isn't willing to read and pray there is not much we can do for him. But it was pretty cool.

Also found another investigator that has blown us off a few times but was home when we went to teach her this week. It was great, helping her understand more, and resolving her concerns. She's a former but willing to try again and we're excited to help out this time.

So even just from those things, this week was very productive. 3 new investigators which is awesome, and it's in a good position to be prepared to baptize this month. I've really felt my testimony being strengthened this week that God is in control and that if we do all we can, he will help us out, some way or another, but he will always add to what he give him.

Also had John speak at the Recent Convert Fireside. That was really great, it was amazing to hear his conversion experience in full, and how he felt the Holy Ghost with him so much more after he was baptized, and how his greatest disappointment would be if the Church suddenly ceased to exist and he had to settle with a protestant religion or something. He's already finished Jesus the Christ, and is cracking into Preach My Gospel. It was sweet because there was a guy at the Recent Convert Fireside, and investigator who is really having a lot of questions and wanted to hear from a scholar who had joined the Church. So he got to talk to John and it really helped him out a ton, and then he came and talked to me because he heard I had some answers about the whole DNA/Book of Mormon thing, which I have studied quite a bit and was able to resolve his concerns with that. But I made sure to let him know that it's the Spirit that is the basis for my testimony. Intellectually you can know it's true, but that doesn't replace a testimony grounded on the "rock" of revelation.

I also got dominated in Checkers by a 4 year old and a 6 year old. I guess I don't know how to play checkers.

And this week I started getting really frustrated, because the Tiwi Black boxes they put in your car yell at you all the time for "speeding violations". No, I'm not a speeder but if you are going down a hill and not paying attention and you go over 5 over then it yells at you and I thought that it meant it showed up on Presidents Report and pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I'm losing my driving privileges, and then Alas! I find out that it needs to say it 3 times in a row without you slowing down, to register. So that was a relief, and now Tiwi has become a friend instead of an annoying dumb thing.

Well, I suppose that's it. I'll send a picture home of Elder Frazier as soon as I can. And let's all have a fun Super Tuesday!
