Milk Chocolate

Hey! Hope everyone is doing alright, I hope Isreal hasn't done anything to Iran yet but I'm sure you'd let me know if something went down. Right? Meh I'd probably find out over here anyways.

Well, it's a good feeling right now. Not because Daylight Savings has nearly incapacitated me (Why Benjamin Franklin, why!!...he did come up with it right?) but because we have had our Part member family investigator to church the past 2 weeks even though their son has been really sick, and they are getting baptized on Saturday night this week! Woooooo! The dry spell is ended! We've had some great lessons with them this week and really felt the spirit testify through us. She asked us a difficult question the other night that we were tactfully able to answer in a great way, and we attribute that to LISTENING to her and the spirit and asking inspired questions. So that has been a great miracle, and really an awesome thing for this ward. It's boosted us up and we're constantly trying to find new people to bring the blessings of the gospel to. So I'll send a picture home next week of it!

I also got my new companion this week. Elder Frazier, from Salt Lake City, Utah. The Motherland. He's from Downtown area and one of his best attributes is the fact that he's black. Ok, half black. But still that's awesome and it's always been my dream to have a black companion. That means I've had an Asian, a Hispanic that looked Indian, and a Black. I've pretty much got em all. So that's been cool, so we call our companionship milk chocolate haha. He's sweet though and been out 7.5 months and loves the mission, loves the work, and it's been going great. So that would be an update for ya.

We had a sweet Preach My Gospel class this week with the young men in our ward. We did some resolving concerns Role plays with them and helped explain it. It's pretty sweet to watch them figure it out, and also to realize "wait...I was at that point at one time. Where the investigator said no and I blankly looked at my companion" but it's been sweet to teach them those principles. Also it's funny to role play with them because they've never really done it before and so you don't get the missionary groan when you say "let's do some role plays". Hey, Role Plays is how God trains his missionaries. <-----Paraphrased Elder Richard G. Scott quote. We also had some great Role Plays at district meetings. Speaking of which, the whole district pretty much got flushed and it's all really accountable good missionaries so District Meetings go really well now, lot's of revelation is being received, and we all get along really well.

We also did service this week where we helped load hay into a Barn and pat it down. It took me back to my Sanford days. Mmmmm....Farm service. My favorite. Truly! Except the hay dust turned my snot black. That was kind of gross.

Love ya!
Elder Gibb
