Shiver me timbers...finally

So...the transfer has come and gone. I am now using the last planner of my mission. Of course nothing is happening with us, which is just fine with me. But it's weird being in the last transfer, the last time I get to excitedly check my email to see the juicy new transfer news coming down the pipe. It's weird, that's all I can say. The past week has been pretty good. Got my Social Security number finally. So I got my license! And it's cool having a social security number, maybe I can start claiming some benefits! Ok that was a joke, I won't do that. But the DMV nightmare is finally over. Springs was cool, there was still a smoky haze in the air but by the time we got up there the fire was mostly under control. So the excitement has faded, but it's cool that Colorado Springs was in the limelight for a little while. So we decided this week to stop by some more people out in the country. So we went by one, and on the way there we saw a guy who was picking stuff up from the ground so we stopped to help him out. He had spilled a bunch of chicken feed on the ground so we started scooping it up with him. The only problem was he didn't speak any english. So...we tried but alas the little spanish I've been able to pick up thus far has long escaped me. So it was a little awkward, a lot of hand signals, but he seemed grateful for our help. Our baptism for July has been postponed until August, which is ok. They are waiting for the grandma to be able to make it into town, which gives us more time to make sure that our investigator is solid and knows the stuff well. We've just about finished all the lessons but it's always nice to strengthen testimonies and help prepare people for lasting conversion and activity. We did manage to give a potential investigator a church tour on Saturday. He liked it a lot and accepted to be baptized on July 28. We had always been a little concerned about this guy because he seemed a little unstable, but he understood the things we taught and was fairly bright so we didn't worry too much about it, but then in our missionary coordination meeting the next day we were informed that he was very unstable. Icing on the cake, his wife told the fellowship that was picking him up for church that he got called in to work. He told us he didn't have a job. He also told us he didn't have a phone. He also didn't have a car...ya...dropped. The big bright spot of the week, I was sitting at church feeling a little down that we couldn't find a baptism in July. See, we commit here for 4 weeks out so now the people we find will be working towards baptism in August. So I was sitting feeling a little sad, almost like as soon as we get something off the ground, the adversary shot it down and we couldn't get anything going. I looked over and saw a guy not really wearing church clothes and thought "hm. maybe that guys less active or something". Well he actually told a member that he knew that he would come to church sometime. He's not a member. And he actually came. And brought his kids. And stayed for all 3 hours. And it's a difficult situation, we taught him after church for gospel principles and it went super well, the spirit was very strong, but baptizing in July is going to be difficult. We're not sure if it's the Lords will or not that he gets baptized right now, but we're going to try for it anyways. Appointment with him on Thursday. We also met a guy who sleeps in a cage under a windmill. That was interesting. Had a ton of the less actives we've been working with at church on sunday, some who have come 2 weeks in a row now! And sunday night, I shivered for the first time since being in this area. something came in and it finally rained on us Saturday night, Sunday night, and this morning it was overcast and a little wet. Amazing. Funny that I didn't shiver once for a whole transfer. Well. It's The Final Countdown. The Final Transfer. The Last Hurrah. The 4th Quarter. And it's going to be great Love, Elder Gibb
