No Title

So this week was the old, Mothers Day week. Got to talk to the family last night, and it seems like everything is going super well back home so that is always a good thing. The last phone call. Weird. Never thought I'd be here. But here it is. We also had Zone Conference this week and it was pretty cool. We got a new "Policies and Guidelines" manual from the mission so that there is no confusion on what mission rules are. It got pretty hectic for a while with different missionaries all doing different things "well, Elder so and so told me we could do this" etc. and so now it's nice to have some set do's, and do not's and guidelines to live by. We also failed to win the "Clean Car Award". I think it's impossible to win if you don't have a white vehicle because the scratches don't show up as well, but we'll see. One more zone conference to try for it. We also talked a lot about Converting people to the gospel and convincing, and really got some good revelation for different investigators as to who was being convinced and who was being converted. In fact, a few hours after zone conference we had to drop one of our investigators who was trying to convince himself the Church wasn't true. He succeeded. Wasn't willing to finish the Book of Mormon, or pray about it or even come to church. So we've pretty much wiped the board now, but we have one investigator left and quite a few potentials, actually a list of about 15 people right now who could become new investigators this week. So it's time to get things moving. Had something cool happen with a part-member family in the ward. We went by to invite them to Church on Sunday and the husband was like "nope. no. no way. nope. not gonna happen" and the wife talked about the church she went to and how they like to study other religions, and it was like something grabbed me and my tongue started moving and I invited them to take the missionary lessons to learn more about ours. The parents felt like they knew enough but the kids wanted to learn more...So that could be interesting. I really felt like it was the spirit that helped me do that though because it was pretty awkward and I was kind of like "ok...abandon ship" basically let's get out of here. But God had another plan. Also talked to some guy who really had a hard time with some of the things we were saying. We were tracting on exchanges because one of the Falcon Elders was sick, so we went over there to help them get some work done and while tracting this guy let us go inside his house he was restoring. We were talking to him and it was kind of funny because while we were talking he popped open a valve and water came shooting out of it really fast because they had forgotten to turn off the water and he got soaking wet. But he was all like "well, you are just Mormon because you were raised in it" and the missionary I was with was like "around 250,000 people join the church every year" and he was like "no they don't."...ok...or he asked about something else and we answered it and he just flatly denied it. "your leaders are in it for the money" "well they aren't paid" "that's not true"....ok...So ya. It was confusing. He offered us beer, but we declined. Well I think that's it for the week. A lot of growing and improving left to go for the last little bit. See you all in 3 months! Elder Gibb
