Sister Mission Complete

Well I hit my 18 month mark the other day, so that was weird. It was a good day. But I didn't really do much or pay attention. Now it's kind of annoying because when people ask me how long I've been out, if I say 18 months it's always "ohhh you're almost done then"...uhhhhh....no not really. But I'm really looking forward to making the next 6 the best of my mission. It's going to be awesome!

So this week the windows of heaven were opened up on the Falcon district. Or as I like to call it, the "Falcon....PUNCH" district. Some of the youth may get that reference. But yes, It was awesome. I remember Wednesday night, we had 2 member present lessons in one night! One right after the other. I don't think I've ever done that before on my mission. I felt like a Utah missionary or something. I'll tell a bit about Wednesday we get a text message from Falcon that Richard has accepted to be baptized on March 4th, and then we get all fired up so we go teach our Part Member family we've been working with. Well she opens up completely and just talks about how ever since we've started teaching her, she's felt a lot more peace, and she's felt like though she was once closed to spirituality, she's now opened right up and is willing to work towards March 4th as well!!!! So awesome! There are definite obstacles to overcome but we're excited. THEN we get home that night after our other lesson, and Calhan informs us that THEY gave someone a baptismal date for March 11th that night as well!!! Some lady who heard the first vision and was just like "of course. Of course I believe that. I felt like I was there when you shared it. That was amazing! I want to be baptized!" So awesome. So everyone in the district gave people baptismal dates that day. Then the next day Calhan (or as I label them on the phone, CalHan Solo) gave someone else a baptismal date for March 3rd. Man it was so awesome I was just dancing around the room that night during call ins just so happy for the blessings of the Lord, and all he's done for us. It was a great moment.

Our investigator couldn't make it to church on Sunday. But the good thing was, not because she didn't try. She was up in Denver and her anti-parents didn't want to give her a ride, and she tried to get a ride from her husbands dad who's a member but he wasn't going for some reason. But next week for sure. And then Richard was buying a house and meeting with his Realtor so he couldn't go either. (he's living in his RV right now) But either way, Calhan's person came to church that they knew was coming and it was great.

Another thing. We decided to wash the truck Sat night because a big German shepherd got it's paws all over the windows and side and smeared mud all over it...and I accidently left my backpack in the back of the truck....and it got soaked....But alas nothing in it was damaged! My Preach My Gospel got a little wet but everything else was great. Amazing backpack. That thing has saved my stuff on more than one rainy day.

And finally, we had the "Round 2" With the Jehovah's Witnesses. THIS time we went on the defensive. We went in there and said "ok. Prove our church can't exist with the bible". They tried. They failed. The spirit just charged me and Elder Robledo the whole time, refuting their attacks and eventually we got to the end and simply enough said, "listen. You can't prove us wrong. We're not here to prove ourselves right. The only way we can know is if we read the Book of Mormon and pray about it"...They didn't want to do that. So that was that. But that was the best bash I've ever been in because the Spirit was there the whole time. It was great, we were not confounded.

Well I think that's all for the week. We saw 2 Coyotes in a subdivision yesterday (!) like a nice suburbia cookie cutter houses subdivision just walking around. We tried to hit them with our truck so they didn't eat a kid, but couldn't get em.

Well, that's all for now. My companion is training next transfer, we found out today. So that shakes things up. It will be interesting to see what happens. But we still got a week until transfer predictions.

Love ya!
