Well we have had a fantastic week! Not only am I learning how to use chopsticks, speak/write Korean, and the weather got a lot warmer, but we have a new investigator with a date! Well, not really new, but new to us right now. I've been trying to baptize this guy for the past 6 months. BUT we'll get to that later.
Heck, let's just get to it now. Chris has got a date now! and this time it's so much more solid than before. Actually now has had a spiritual witness. So that has helped a lot and we got a member there and it was all good in the land. It was Elder Park's first real lesson from Preach my Gospel and he did a great job of it. Made me proud. We do a lot of teaching principles from the scriptures or certain things that investigators need, due to circumstances we don't do a lot of set "Preach my Gospel Lesson ____" kind of things. We teach people, not lessons and sometimes that means straying from the set formula. But we are always striving to become "Preach my Gospel Missionaries". Actually we have a General Authority going to Pueblo on Thursday, for a mission tour, so we are going up there to see it. Elder Paul V. Johnson, and we have to prepare 5 minute talks on a subject they gave us because he is randomly going to call upon missionaries to give their talks. Yikes. If we remember my last encounter with a GA, Elder Zwick of the 70, I...uh....well lets say it was embarassing, I think it's back in my blog somewhere. He shook my hand, I politely said hi, looked him in the eye, and then turned to talk to the bishop of one of our wards to ask for a ride home. And my comp and the Bishop looked at me funny.
We are having a baptism next weekend. Can I get a woop woop! 6:00 on saturday at the Manassa building if you can make it. Ok that was a joke, I better not see any of you there. John is super solid and excited. He got anti'd twice this week! Some idiot baptist minister introducing Rick Perry called mormons a "Cult". Oh brother. Johns response was "well, Rick Perry just lost a vote". We told him to watch out for Satan, he likes to try harder when people get closer to doing something good. Like how the ring got heavier the closer Frodo got to Mt. Doom. But we're super excited, he's going to make a great addition to the church, planning on going on a senior mission!
And our Catholic friend Tony, the 83 year old, is now referring to himself as an ex-catholic. He's in the beginning of Alma and loving it more and more every day. Our church is the "highlight of his week". We've got him committed to come to church for all 3 hours every week. So now he's got Book of Mormon, Church, and Prayer. The 3 musketeers of conversion. The Triforce. The 3 stooges. It's only a matter of time.
All good things. We went tracting and some dog followed us up to a porch and the lady asked us to get rid of it. It was super nice and friendly, but I grabbed it's collar and it suddenly turned rabid. Tried to eat my arm. We joked about taking it home and making it into Dog Soup. Elder Park loves dog soup. It actually sounds pretty good. And we found a stickbug! At our ward mission leaders house! I thought those things did not exist in America and neither did our WML who served in South Aftrica. I took a picture with it which I shall send home. Notice how muscular my arm is. Haha.
We've really been blessed with tender mercies this week. A lot of things for finding, or staying busy have really dropped in our laps. One thing we are looking into, is some "coalition of churches" is making a big choir for a concert december 4th, and since we know we'll both still be here by then we might join up. Good PR.
Well I think that's all for the week. Baptism and General Authority this week! Can't really get any better than that!
