G.C. NUMBER 3

And thus we begin the close of the third General Conference in the 13th month of the reign of the judges. Er. The 13th month of my mission. But man that was an amazing General Conference! Especially Elder Callister's Book of Mormon talk! Put it so simply, either it's of God or the Devil, and I can assure you it's not of the Devil. And did anyone else get goosebumps during the closing hymn "I believe in Christ" during the Sunday AM session? Boy oh Boy that was something spectacular. One of our investigators said it was the best weekend of his life. I thought it was interesting that 2 of the talks on Saturday were directed to the youth, the day that most of the youth probably don't watch. And both were from Apostles. Elder Bednar and Packer. I know I never watched the Saturday session but now I'm wondering on what I missed out on. And boy oh boy Elder Hollands talk was so spectacular. I kind of wanted to crawl up in a ball and hide in a hole. Amazing. He made it very clear what we have to do. And spared nobody.

So we had a pretty decent week, conference always makes a week good. Spent a lot of time trying to get as many people as possible to watch conference. We managed to have our 2 investigators, and 2 other non-members watch it so that was nice. It was great having Tony, our 83 year old catholic right in front of the screen during the Book of Mormon talk by Elder Callister. Right after the SUN PM session we had a lesson with Tony where we basically said "look, you know what you need to do". Still no. He won't get baptized. So close though. He doesn't have a lot of real intent right now, so we're trying to help him get that. He loved General Conference and after the morning session he was just, stunned really. His countenance had changed and he spoke in much softer reverent tones. It was very cool to see. But we're still helping him.

We helped with some service for a former, you might remember Chris from a couple months ago who had a date but kept on losing it because he wouldn't come to church. Me and Elder Park used a wood splitter for the first time and we got pretty good at it. He gave me a hug when he saw me (Chris, not Elder Park), so that was interesting. We'll see what happens with him. Hopefully he gets going with the lessons again before the end of the year.

And I learned how to do concrete for fence posts as well, we helped another investigator with that. Good times and he is as solid as ever. Getting baptized in 3 weeks!

During one of our companion studies, we heard a mousetrap go "SNAP"...and then we were all freaking out because we didn't know what to do. I didn't want to touch the mouse but I knew we had to get rid of it and Elder Park has never seen a mouse before so he was freaking out and it was quite funny. We got rid of it though.

And because I wanted a laugh, I got Elder Park to say "Docta Jones! Docta Jones!" like in Indiana Jones and it made me laugh.

Interviews tomorrow! WOOOO
Elder Gibb
