Our clothing cannot repel rainpower of that magnitude

OK SO TRANSFERS BABY!

Yep it's transfers. That time of year. When a young boys thoughts turn to the shiny e-mail sitting in the inbox that tells all. This time though, it all started with a phone call:

Assistants: Elder Gibb?
EG:Am I in trouble?
A: Why does everyone always ask us that?
EG: I don't know
A: You need to call President Pfile at 8:20 AM tomorrow (this phone call took place on a Saturday at aprox. 1:00 PM)

At this point I fainted and hit the curb. Naw, but I did freak out a little. When you have to call president about transfers, something serious is happening. Something big. It took a while to get hold of him, but I finally did, (he was busy in some General Authorities meeting or something like that) And I found out that I am being flushed into an area that needs some serious trust building. Well today I find out more about that. I'm going to Sanford 1st and 2nd! Back to the San Luis Valley! Apparently missionaries there were watching movies and playing video games or something until 2 in the morning and basically ruined the members trust in missionaries. So me and a missionary who is solid are going to go, in the words of President Pfile "Fix It". And we are also going to "baptize like you've never baptized before". We are going to baptize the whole city! I'm so excited to be going back to the valley!

It's tough though because there's some investigators we have been working with that I'm really sad to leave. But It'll be good, i'm going to say goodbye today and get them baptized! It's been tough though.

So this week it rained. And rained. And rained some more. Oh, here's some snow. Oh wait, not done raining yet. Hey guess what, we got some more rain for you. And i'm sure you get the picture. Basically, I discovered this week, that none of my clothing is 100% waterproof. It did good, lasted a while but eventually gave way to the relentless onslaught of power. We chose not to bike because it would be slippery and wetter than walking. And our plans called for us to go up to the top of our area, so we decided it was probably inspired and went up there. Well it was wet and we were soaked to the skin when we got up there, but we did manage to contact a part member that Elder Summers hasn't seen since he got here in october. So that was an awesome miracle and made the wet walk worth it. Hopefully things will start rolling forward with them.

Elder Summers also scared me really bad the other night. I was coming out of the bathroom after brushing my teeth and all the lights were off. He was standing in front of me but I couldn't see him, and then he sprayed this air freshner thing that is really loud and sounds really creepy. I literally screamed like a girl. And it shocked him that I screamed. So he got scared too. Oh the shenanigans that take place. I love it.

We also had an awkward moment while tracting. We knocked on this door, and a guy that did not seem pleased to see us answered. Suddenly his dog ran underneath him and took off down the street. Usually dogs will stop at the yard when they run out, but this one just took off and kept on going. We just stood there and offered to help but they declined. It took them 10 minutes or so to catch up to it and get it back. Woops.

Truly though it was a great last week of the transfer. A lot of amazing things happened. Got in contact with some investigators that were going cold on us, taught a great gospel principles lesson on Alma 32 about "Nurturing the seed" and the importance of daily things that build our testimony. And really, just awesome. Due to the public nature of the blog, I'm going to keep a lot of stuff more private this week, but we did have a moment where we were late to an appointment for the first time ever, and it turned out to be a VERY good thing we were late. down to the last minute. Amazing. But that's all for now, sorry it's a short e-mail this week. I'm SO EXCITED!

Elder Gibb
