Alright so we had a good week 5 of the transfer this week. Sunday was really cool. Again, some more trials but we are also having some more miracles. It was Star Wars day this week so I wore my tie. I wore a jacket over it though so you couldn't see it. Just showed it to a couple people. It was also Cinquo de Mayo this week and we celebrated in style with some mexican dinner! This awesome member of the ward grew up in mexico and made some fantastic stuff, some stuffed chile Rellano that was so hot that I almost couldn't take it. It was so hot that she brought something out of the oven whilst my mouth was burning, and I put that physically hot stuff in my mouth, and it felt the same as the chemically hot stuff. But it was really great!
It was also Mothers Day this week. Happy Mothers Day! and with that I scratch phone call #2 off the list. only 2 left! It was a great time, for some reason my brothers voice has changed or something, and he's nearing 114 lbs so I really need to start packing it in more. But it was cool to hear from everyone in the family! And again, I appreciate all the support everyone gives me. It's an amazing thing.
So this week we picked up a new investigator. His name is Ian and he is hispanic. He was in someone's home teaching family and they invited him to be baptized and his grandma said she wanted that. He's 9 so we have to teach him the missionary lessons. So basically mom and gma haven't been to church for a couple of years, and mom's husband isn't a member. So we will probably start teaching him too! So they all came to church on sunday with the exception of grandma. But it was a cool miracle to pick up a new investigator and have them come to church. He doesn't have a baptismal date yet because grandma wants him to know more before he makes a decision so he doesn't go less active. But he's great, loves reading scriptures and coming to church!
Another one of our investigators came to church this week as well, and it happened to be the week that Elder Hillier of the Seventy was in the ward! So Bishop had read a scripture that our investigator really liked, and so he went up after the meeting to talk to him about it, and then Bishop invited him to go meet Elder Hillier, and then we got up to the front and they talked together for like 5-6 minutes. Of all the people I would want an investigator to talk to, a General Authority is probably in the top 5. It was so cool to see. And he had a migraine but he still came to church! It's awesome to see that too, because sometimes it's like pulling teeth getting people to come to church. Like if they have a runny nose they wont come. So sunday was just a fantastic day. And in the Stonegate ward (in the morning) Sister Dibb (spelling?) the Primary General President (i think) was in the ward because her daughter lives in town, and we were walking down the hall and she came right up to us and shook our hands and looked in our eyes and asked us how the work was going. You could tell she really cared, just the way she acted. It was pretty cool.
We saw 2 crows take on a hawk while riding our bikes. It was cool to watch it was like a dogfight or something. The hawk did that peircing yell they always do. The Crows had numbers, speed, and agility on their side, but the Hawk had a +2 defense bonus as well as being equipped with claws. We didn't see a decisive victor although at one point during the spectacle, the hawk did a barrell roll. Me and my companion at the same time exclaimed "Do a Barrell Roll!" If anyone has played Starfox 64 they know exactly what that's about. "Something's wrong with the G-Diffuser". Ah Classic.
Elder Summers also almost ran over a snake. It was the "garage sale weekend" or something so as we were riding around on saturday we picked up a couple ties. And talked to the people running the sale about the gospel.
Also did you know the guy that created Skullcandy headphones is a member of the church? Trivia for you.
