Wowza! I am getting transferred to the Parker Zone, with Elder Summers which is going to be awesome. Now, the crazy thing is that Parker is the wealthiest Zone in the mission. In fact, it's one of the 3 wealthiest areas in the USA. So i'm going from one of the 3 Welfare capitals of the USA to the ritz. So wow. That was kind of a shock and really sad for me, because I'm really going to miss the people here. But not the weather. It's starting to get cold again.
And this is going to be a lot of fun, because I got food poisoning last night at dinner with our investigators, and so I've been throwing up all night and morning. So packing and driving today is going to be a BLAST!
But ya, this is going to be sad, especially after the week we just had. Epic week. And it started out sad for me, because I was informed of some sad news from home, and so I've really been feeling bad for Ross and the whole Humphreys family. So the week started out sad, and ended out sad.
But heres the deal. Since I am feeling like death today, this letter might be a little scatterbrained. So you'll have to bear with me.
This week we got 2 referalls from the sisters. They were potential investigators of ours, and the sisters taught them and gave them a baptismal date. Unfortunately they cancelled the appointment we had set up with them, and wern't able to make it to church, but it's still good news.
Then, we managed to go the the less active and her boyfriends house and completely drop a repentance "bomb" on them. Usually they will joke around or goof off during our lessons, but this time they were completely silent as we let the spirit chastise them. They still didn't make it to church, but at least now they really know that it's serious business. So Elder Terry is going to hammer down on that next week.
With our family, we were able to eat dinner with them last night (that's where I got the food poisoning) and they discussed that they wanted to be baptized, but with trying to sell their house, and he has to go to court in a bit, they said it wouldn't be until the middle of February. So that will be an ongoing project.
And finally and most epically. The part member we are teaching now has a date for the 23rd! This was the guy that at the beginning when we started teaching him flat out said "I won't be baptized in your church. I want to learn about it, but I won't be baptized." We went in knowing that we had to give him a date, and throughout the lesson he bore his own testimony of the Book of Mormon and of Joseph Smith. It was literally the happiest moment of my life. There is a difference between the happiness that comes when you scare your sister with a clown mask in her closet, and when you bring someone salvation. It just helped to really help me LOVE the work and be super excited about it!
Well that's all I feel like writing because I think I need to throw up. So peace, and talk to you next week.
