Hello Neighbors!

Ok this week was pretty fan-diddly-tastic. Pretty much made up for last week. And it's the last week of the transfer this week, :(. Dang that went really fast, kind of a blur almost. We were giving the AP's a weight set we found at a garage sale, and they didn't have money to pay for it at the time, so we dropped the price a bit and asked them to give us transfer doctrine instead. All we could get out of them was that me and Elder Robledo wouldn't be serving together next transfer...Hmmm. Which is pretty sad because we're both pretty sure he's leaving and he has done a lot of good work here and things are finally starting to come together. That and next week, our ward is doing some sweet idea I've never heard of before. They are having a "40 Day Fast" where every day a different family signed up to fast for missionary work, and then on the last Sunday of the fast we have a ward fast for missionary work. If that won't get missionary work going, I don't know what will. It reminds me of the quote near the end of Preach My Gospel by president Hinckley that basically says "It will be a great day in the church, when our members not only pray for the missionaries serving throughout the world, but also pray for their own family missionary efforts". But we are super excited to see the miracles that come from that.

Let's see...yesterday was Martin Luther King day, so we didn't take p-day, we worked and we actually had a bash with some guy! It was probably my favorite one of my mission because it wasn't really argumentative, more of a philosophical debate. Anywho, I didn't get contentious, and instead of lashing back with scriptures/examples/uncontested slam dunks, I prayed to see what questions I could ask. Remember, Jesus never argued with his detractors. He asked them questions. Well I asked him "Would God lie to you through prayer?" and he couldn't answer the question. Yep, through small means the Lord confounds the wise. Speaking of which, I haven't grown (physically) at all in case anyone was wondering.

Ok, so this week we did something that I have always wanted to do. Elder Robledo and I were driving home from District meeting and we were looking at our plans and thinking "hmm...I'm not excited to do this for some reason". So we made the split second decision to drive all the way to the farthest corners of our area, near the Douglas County line/ParkerRock Zone boundary and tract over there. Well we did. And we didn't have anything happen at the time, so we moved to another place to tract, and then BOOM. We FOUND A FAMILY! and not just a mom dad kid. A family of 9!!! 7 kids! 5 people above the age of 8. They are really interested and you can tell they've been prepared. They don't already have a church, and started a bible study a couple weeks ago as a family because they were trying to find out how to get closer to Christ. And then we come along! They want to work towards baptism, no baptismal date yet, but the only problem we've been having is contact with them. We're not too worried though, 7 kids is 7 busy schedules to work around so we're trying to get back with them. It's sweet though.

And we also found a former investigator who is ready to meet with the missionaries again! Man it was just thing after thing. And honestly, we weren't expecting these miracles, though they were things that just boosted us like crazy. Walking out of that lesson with the family we felt like a million bucks.

I also had my first baptismal interview this week, for one of Calhan's investigators. He is 10 but he knew his stuff and was definitely ready. Some of the questions are a little awkward to ask a 10 year old but it went well. The only question he had for me was "what is doomsday?"...hmm...that was interesting.

Yep! Not sure about what else to tell ya. Broncos got destroyed on Saturday. Everyone was sad at church. Cool. Have a great day!
